Introducing: Lock Application!
Activating our new “Lock Application” feature will prevent applicants from making further changes to their applications once they've submitted them. Users will still be able to review applications and make changes to those that have not yet been submitted, but submitting an application will render it read-only to the applicant. This is a feature that many of you have been asking for. Some tips for using the “Lock Application” feature:
-Make use of the “required” option for important questions. If it's an item that the applicant needs to answer, be sure to mark it required, as they won't be able to go back in and add in missing answers later.
-If your application includes information requests, we strongly recommend that you check the “Info Request Must Be Received to Submit Application” as this ensures that your applicants have a way to resend information requests if need be.
Reset information requests with "Erase Request Information"
At SmarterSelect, we understand that change is inevitable. This is why we've made it possible for administrators to reset information requests and allow their applicants to start over with a clean request. Previously, when an applicant filled in the contact information and submitted the application, the requests were locked, and changes could no longer be made. If you're running a program where applicants can apply year after year, or the applicant makes a mistake, you need to be able to clear out the old requests-- with our newest feature, you can enter the application you wish to edit via clicking on the AppID in the applicant table. Once the application is open and you can view the applicant's data in view-only mode, click on the trashcan icon in the upper right of the request you wish to reset.
Improved Reports!
Now you can use up to 10 distinct data fields in your reports-- that's twice as many as before. We understand the importance of analyzing your data, so we've made it even easier.
Remember that when you export a report, it can take a while for the files to be emailed to you, so please be patient while waiting for your data to make it to your inbox!
Grouping/Filtering Tables & Reports
You can now group by different fields in tables and reports and filter your results. Use groups to organize your data and sort fields by categories (schools attended, intended major). Use filters to select specific types of results within a field and show them on the table or report.
