Many of our clients have asked us for ways that they can cut down on users who sign up and/or start applications but never finish. Here are some of the best ways to prevent uninterested or ineligible applicants from applying for your program:
Make sure that "Preview Application" is enabled.
Some potential applicants will register just to take a look at your application. Seeing your application gives them a good idea of how long it will take to fill out, whether they meet all of the qualifications, and whether they believe that they will be successful in getting everything turned in by the deadline. Allowing users to preview your application will let them assess whether they really want to apply before they register and are added to your user count.
Use the "Pre-qualify" feature.
If you have a program with very specific eligibility criteria, we advise using the Pre-qualify feature, which allows you to block the application to those applicants who don't qualify. Potential applicants will encounter a list of questions (devised by you) that screens your applicant and only allows the ones who are qualified to continue, thereby cutting down on applications from those who begin the application, only to stop once they realize that they are ineligible.
