Applicants
The Applicants section of your program is where you can:
- Access and edit individual applications
- Update application statuses
- Mass print applications
- Export application data
- Gather applicant email addresses
- Assign applications to evaluators
- Test program application
- Send broadcast messages to applicants
You can also see high-level information on each individual application by clicking on the blue question icon. With this, you can see:
- Date, time, and by whom the application was last modified
- Date, time, and by whom the application was created
- Online request status, date/time sent and received, and to whom the request was sent
Evaluation
The Evaluation section will provide a table displaying all of the evaluation assignments. From this table you can:
- Un-assign/delete evaluation assignments
- Create new evaluators
- Adjust My Evaluations table settings
- Export evaluations and scores
- Send broadcast emails to evaluators, including reminders and notification of new assignments
Reports
Reports have many different uses to our SmarterSelect clients.
First of all, you may use a report to weed out applicants who do not meet all of your criteria (e.g., wrong location, GPA too low), thus shortening the list of applications that your evaluators will need to take the time to review.
Secondly, you may want to use reports to examine the finalists among your applicants, as generating a report can make it very easy to compare top candidates side by side, often making a very difficult decision a bit simpler.
Reports can also be used when you need to provide a data analysis or statistical information about your program. If your organization receives external funding that must be accounted for or wishes to present data to future applicants about the average GPA or test scores of current applicants, reports will be invaluable.
Requests
The Requests section will provide a table displaying all of the online requests that have been sent out by the applicants for the program. From this table you will be able to:
- Resend requests
- Change requests statuses
- Send broadcast messages to applicants, including reminders for incomplete requests
- Obtain unique links to online requests
- Export online request data into csv format
Interviews
The Interview section of your program is where you will be able to schedule interviews and send out invitations to your applicant pool.

This is the section where you can access your application settings.
Form
The Form section of your program is where you will build your application form and evaluation questions. All of the information you want to gather from your applicants and evaluators will be requested here.
App Rules
Here is where you set up the app rules for your application.
Autoscore
Here is where you set up the autoscore functions for your application.
Calculation
Here is where you set up the calculation functions for your application.
Checklist
The Checklist section is where you can create a checklist for your applicants. The checklist feature is simply an additional way to ensure your applicants are going through all of the required steps of your application process. It functions as a to-do list that the applicants will see on the right-hand side of their screen and can check off items as they are completed. The checklist is not required and the checking off of items will not affect the application - it is simply informational.
FAQ
This section is for answering frequently asked questions you may have from applicants.
Matching
Program matching will attempt to match an applicant to an application based on certain criteria that you set.
Messages
In the Messages section, you will find the message templates for the automated messages sent out during the application process as well as the broadcast messages, including the custom messages.
Pre-Qualify
You can set up a series of pre-qualification questions that will filter out applicants that are not eligible for the program they are trying to apply for.
