You have had the option to limit your essay fields to a maximum number of words as well as show a running word and character count, but now we introduce the ability to limit the essay fields to a range of words.
We have noticed in working with you that some of your applicants start an essay, but don't finish. Even if it is required, there really is no way to know if the applicant has truly finished their essay. What we can do, however, is set a minimum number of words on your required essay fields so you can not only help remind applicants when they haven't finished but also require more effort on the part of your applicants to ensure a better applicant pool.
A few notes about this new feature:
- The software will alert the applicant when their word count isn't high enough, but if the question is not required the minimum limitation will not prevent the applicant from submitting.
- Remember that we try to get our word count algorithm as close to the average as possible, but we cannot guarantee exact matches to programs such as MS Word or Google Docs. Do not limit your essay fields too narrowly.
